MISSION & VISION:
The department of Economics aims at achieving excellence in higher education among the students.
The vision of the department centres round its strong will to become a centre of excellence in the academic field.
Facilities:
    i.  The department provides books to the students.
    ii. The department facilitates the graduate students showing excellence in the final examination.

1. Seminars:
     a) National Seminar:
         Sub-Regional Connectivity: Trade and Growth- A Case Study in the N.E. Region, 20th and 21st April, 2018.

            i. Workshop on Khadi and Village Industries: An Entrepreneurship Development Program in association with SPEED as a                        part of People’s Education Program of KVIC, 26th and 27th September, 2003
            ii.  Seminar on Population and Development, 4th November, 2010.
           iii.  A lecture programme on the Relevance of Gandhian Thought by Dr. Paramananda Singh of T.M.B. university, 20th March,                   2017.
           iv.  Lecture programme on Start up India, 1st February, 2019
            v.  Seminar on Indian Agriculture, 10th March, 2021.
           vi. Seminar on Industrial sector in India, 17th March, 2021.

2. Programmes & Surveys:
a. A Socio-economic Survey was conducted at Sontola village on household savings 8th January, 2004.
b. A survey was conducted in the Rani Industrial Estate, 26th November, 2009.
c. A computer training programme was imparted in 2011.
d. A Socio-economic Survey was conducted at Gargara village, 24th and 25th January 2013.
e. A market survey was conducted at Mirza in 2014.
f. Swachha Bharat Abhiyan programme, 2nd October, 2016 & 2nd October, 2017.
g. A Socio –Economic Survey on Poultry works in Rajapukhuri Village in Kamrup District on 2nd November, 2018
h. A Socio-economic Survey was conducted at Ganeshpara, Mirza, 17th February, 2021.
i. A Socio –Economic Survey on Saving Habits of the Rural People Living in Ganeshpara and Sontola Village in Kamrup District on 17th February and 1st March, 2021
j. A Socio –Economic Survey on Participation of Tribal Women in Local Markets in South Kamrup Area on 17th February, 2022
FUTURE PERSPECTIVES:
The department aims at building efficient human resource in the state as well as in the country by imparting education to the students and guiding them in right directions.
