Poster-Making Competition on the occasion of “World Environment Day”
Mirza, June 5: An “On the spot Poster-Making
Competition” was organized by the English Study Forum, Department of English,
Dakshin Kamrup College, Mirza on the occasion of World Environment Day on 5th
June 2023. The theme of the competition corresponded with this year’s theme for
World Environment Day which was “Beat Plastic Pollution”. A total of 18
students, who belonged to the ongoing classes, HS 2nd Year and
Bachelors’ Degree 3rd Semester (Honours and Regular) participated in
the competition. The judges for the competition were Sjt. Karuna Kanta Das and
Ms. Anuradha Gogoi, Assistant Professors, Department of Botany and Department
of Economics, D.K. College respectively. Mr. Amarjyoti Das (B.F.A. 2nd
Year) of Govt. College of Art and Craft, declared as the first prize winner and
Ms. Dikshita Kumari (B.Sc 3rd Semester Regular), declared as the
second prize winner of the competition received their prizes from Dr. Nabajyoti
Das, Principal, D.K. College. The prizes, sponsored by the English Study Forum,
consisted of a certificate and a book. The results were declared in a joint
session chaired by the Principal, in which the winners of the Art Competition
organized by the Environment and Climate Cell of D.K. College were also
declared and given prizes. The programme came to an end with a vote of thanks
delivered by Dr. Durlav Narayan Singha, Assistant Professor, Department of
Botany, D.K. College.
